Uncertainty in Everyday Halal Shopping
Muslim consumers had no reliable way to confirm a product's halal status while standing in the aisle, phone in hand. Certification information was scattered across labels, certifying bodies, and manufacturer websites, and dense ingredient lists full of E-numbers and unfamiliar additives made quick, confident decisions almost impossible.
