What is a preventive maintenance system?

A preventive maintenance system is software that schedules, assigns, and documents routine maintenance — inspections, servicing, and calibration — before equipment fails. Instead of reacting to breakdowns, it keeps every asset on a planned maintenance calendar with a complete, auditable history of the work performed.
